Who am I?
I’m Tim Trice. Welcome to my blog. It’s just another Wordpress blog.
I’m 32. I’m a father. I live in Houston.
I do information management as a living but dabble in internet programming, marketing and design from time to time. I enjoy it. But, I do tend to lose interest more than I wish. I think I suffer from ADD. Maybe I’m just lazy.
My son is six. He lives with his mother in some far away land. I get Texas-normal visitation which pretty much means I’m screwed. But, it is what it is.
I am not a college graduate.
I’m agnostic. I think because I have a scientific frame of mind.
I’m a smoker. I like cigars but occasionally.
I’m a drinker. I like hard liquors but will settle for beer, if necessary.
I like Californication. Occasionally I’ll watch House or Two and a Half Men. But, that’s about it.
And my girlfriend, M, and I got a new grill/smoker for Christmas. So, now I think I’m ready for the next cookoff contest even though the brisket I smoked Sunday took twice as long as was twice as tough as necessary.
I like golfing, too. Though I haven’t picked up a club in six months (at least) I’m just as good now as I was then – a solid 36 handicap. At one point I could’ve sworn I was on the path to the PGA (that’s a joke).
I love tracking hurricanes and studying them. That doesn’t mean I like seeing the destruction associated with them. People don’t seem to think it’s possible to do one without the other.
I have many friends; many of which I’ve seen lose their jobs. And I’m thankful I still have mine even though I tend to hate it as much as I tend to like it. But, it’s not as bad as it could be. I do document control for an oil pipeline company, btw.
I’ll speak my mind. Which, I’m afraid if I do so too much here will have a negative impact later on in life. It’d be stupid to think it wouldn’t. So, in some cases, I’ll have to tread safely. But, I doubt that will work well. Sometimes I get careless with words. So, we’ll see.
My intent with this site from this point forward is to just be me. Let you know who I am. Maybe I can teach you something you may not necessarily learn somewhere else. Maybe you’ll teach me something I wouldn’t learn someplace else.
As long as we’re learning.
Welcome to my world.
